Review : Chit Chat Messanger For Facebook

Over the past couple of years it’s become much easier to stay connected on Facebook, whether you want to or not chances are that your iPhone or Blackberry constantly has Facebook on in the background draining your battery in addition to the intended purpose of keeping you connected online.

In the fall of last year, you’ll remember that Facebook Messenger an independent Facebook chat application separate to that of the “Facebook application” was launched on both the Android and Blackberry. Later on, Facebook launched Facebook Messenger for the Windows desktop completing their portfolio of Facebook connectivity applications.

However, this article isn’t about the history of Facebook’s launches of Facebook Messenger, it’s about a third party software application for Windows called Chit Chat for Facebook.

Whilst of course it is nice to have an official way in which to connect to Facebook chat on your phone and your Windows desktop, it’s also not the be all and end all of Facebook chat connectivity. The reason being is that Facebook have made their Messenger applications “quick to market” and provide you with all you need in terms of functionality but not necessarily all you want.

Chit Chat for Facebook is one of a handful of dedicated Facebook chat applications for your Windows desktop, it was also the first dedicated Facebook chatting tool to market. As such, it still has somewhat a lead in terms of the functionality that is provided its messenger client. So, why am I writing about Chit Chat for Facebook – and perhaps, more importantly – what are the reasons why you should consider changing or using Chit Chat for Facebook over Facebook Messenger?

Supports Inserting Facebook Emoticons
From the Facebook Messenger’s instant message window you can simply click the smiley face button and choose from a variety of emoticons to insert. It’s super easy to choose and send a Facebook emoticon to your friends.

Keep Facebook IM on Top
If you’re working but still need to keep in touch, setting your Facebook IM window to remain on top of your other applications makes chatting much easy and avoids the typical two and fro that you experience when multitasking.

Pleasing To the Eye
It’s rather pretty. Also it has a very simple and easy to navigate interface. Even a child can use it very easily.

Nice Notification Screen
It’s a well-known myth that people login on Facebook chat at different times. In fact, Facebook “refreshes” friends in and out of Facebook chat. As such, it’s often the case that you think a friend is online when in fact they are not – and vice versa. Chit Chat’s notification screen lets you know every few minutes which of your Facebook friends has logged in and, perhaps, more importantly who has logged out.

Speech Bubbles
Easy to read what you’ve said to your friend, and what they’ve written back to you.

To recap, Chit Chat for Facebook is a nice little Facebook Messenger alternative for your Windows computer. It supports many features and  provides many benefits that Facebook’s own Messenger application doesn’t provide when connecting to Facebook chat.
